The Social Welfare Home for Adults, run by the Congregation of Borromaean Sisters in Nysa, has been existing for 163 years. It has always served people in need, ill and poor. Now, in our Home live 53 mentally ill women from 45 till 89 years old. All of them are disabled.
We wish our home was their real home because very often it was not their personal choice. They have been living here because their illnesses have prevented living on their own and families were not able to look after them.
We try to ensure them peacful lives, safty, respect of dignity and privacy to make them possible as long activity as possible in different forms of exercise therapy and rehabilitation. We wish they felt well, like in a true family.
SOS For Nursing Home !
Objective of the cmpaigne ? : we are aiming at finishing the modernization of our nursing home in Nysa, run by The sisters of Charles Borromeo, for 55 mentally and physically impaired women. We have already obtained some funds from the European Union but unfortunately they are not sufficient to cover the total cost of the undertaking. The EU funds saved the house from its closing due to the lack of the EU standards. Now we have to finish the works started. If not the EU funds will have to be returned with interest. Not much time is left. Therefore we have arrived at the decision to start this Internet campaign looking for. We hope your are not going to leave as alone. Paying small amounts you will allow us to raise the money needed to complete the project successfully. As the well-known saying goes “MANY A MICKLE MAKES A MUCKLE.” Our Nursing Home is made of two buildings which date back to the years of 1896 and 1897. Since then we have been trying to give help and relief to the sick and in need. Now we are doing our best to ease mentally impaired women.
We wholeheartedly entourage all of you to go through the gallery although it show only the tiny shreds of our lives and what we had to overcome. Thanks to many people and various institution with the human face what we have achieved so far is worth doing. We are extremely grateful. Furthermore, our gratitude we express daily in our prayers. Now what is left is to bring the whole enterprises into its successful end. However, without your backup it definitely will be extremely difficult.

To finish the second stage of the chase 1 270 000,00PLN is needed.
The renovation covers:
1.finishing the renovating works in building "B" (celalr, store rooms, corridors and social facilities)
2. renovation of buiding "A" - 3 storeys :
- adaptation of the existing connecting rooms and shared ones to smaller and with toilets for the disabled,
- renovation of the rehabilitation facilities,
- extensive replacement of the sanitary fittings and wiring
- reinforcement of slab floors and their fire resistance (they date back to the nineteenth century)
- overhauling of traffic routes and installing of railings for the disabled,
- renovation of the kitchen, dining room, washing room and building of the lift tor transporting meals,
- installation of the fire protection and alarm system for the disabled.
